十四、through的译法
1. 指空间，可译为“通过”、“穿过”。如：
* The particles went straight through the metal foil.
粒子笔直地穿过了金属箔。
2. 指方法、手段、途径，可译为“经由”、“以”等。如：
* Hardware designers may be able to cut costs through loading the digital signal processing with multiple tasks.
硬件设计师可以通过给数字信号处理赋予多种任务来降低成本。
3. 表示原因，可译为“因为”、“由于”等。如：
* The smelting reduction process saves energy and lessens pollution through using of ore fines without any pretreatment and agglomeration.
由于使用无需任何预处理和造块的矿粉，熔融还原法既可节能，又能減少污染。
十五、to的译法
1. 表示方向、距离、位置、程度等，可译为“向”、“住”、“到”、“达到”等，也可以灵活处理。如：
* The seller shall present the following documents to the negotiation bank for payment.
要求付款时，销售方应向议付银行提交下列单据。
2. 表示范围，常与表示限制含义的动词limit, restrict, confine等连用，可译为“限于，局限于”。如：
* Success has been limited to minor sectors of high-pressure piping.
良好的效果只限于高压管道部分。
3. 表示事物之间的相互关系、关联，可译为“对……而言”、“对于”、“与”、“和” 等。如：
* Compressors work by throwing out data unimportant to the overall quality of the image.
压缩程序删除那些对图像整体质量无足轻重的数据。
