The Jerusalem Post Publishes Ambassador Zhan Yongxin's Article Entitled"The Belt & Road Initiative: From Vision to Fruition"

2019年5月3日，驻以色列大使詹永新在以色列发行量最大的英文报纸《耶路撒冷邮报》发表题为《“一带一路”，春华秋实》的署名文章，宣介第二届“一带一路”国际合作高峰论坛成果。全文如下：

On May 3rd, 2019, the Jerusalem Post, Israel's largest-circulating English newspaper, published Ambassador Zhan Yongxin's article entitled "The Belt & Road Initiative: From Vision to Fruition". The full text is as follows:

　　4月25日至27日，第二届“一带一路”国际合作高峰论坛在北京成功举行。中国国家主席习近平出席高峰论坛开幕式、发表主旨演讲，并全程主持领导人圆桌峰会。37位外国领导人、来自150个国家和92个国际组织的6000余名外宾出席。作为东道主，中方牵头汇总了各方达成的具体成果，形成了一份283项的成果清单。本届论坛的巨大成功传递出三点重要信息。

The Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) was held from April 25 to 27 in Beijing. More than 6,000 foreign guests from 150 countries and 92 international organizations, including heads of state and government from 37 foreign countries attended. Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony, chaired and addressed the leaders' round-table. The success of the Second BRF, with a list of deliverables including 283 concrete results, sent out three important messages, which I would like to share with my friends and readers in Israel.

　　一、“一带一路”倡议成绩斐然，硕果累累。

　　6年前，习近平主席提出“一带一路”倡议，旨在聚焦互联互通，深化务实合作，携手应对人类面临的各种风险挑战，实现互利共赢、共同发展。

　　共建“一带一路”倡议源于中国，但机会和成果属于世界。6年来，150多个国家和国际组织同中国签署共建“一带一路”合作协议，一大批合作项目落地生根，互联互通架构基本形成。中国同沿线国家贸易总额超过6万亿美元，对沿线国家投资超过800亿美元。中国同沿线国家共同建设的82个境外合作园区，上缴东道国税费20多亿美元，为当地创造将近30万个就业岗位。

1.The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has yielded remarkable achievements.

The joint pursuit of the BRI, which was first proposed by President Xi about 6 years ago, aims to enhance connectivity and practical cooperation. It is about jointly meeting various challenges and risks confronting mankind and delivering win-win outcomes and common development. The BRI may be China's idea, but its opportunities and outcomes are going to benefit the world.

Over the past 6 years, more than 150 countries and international organizations have signed agreements on Belt and Road cooperation with China, a large number of cooperation projects have been launched, a general connectivity framework has been put in place.

Over past 6 years, total trade between China and other Belt and Road countries has exceeded 6 trillion US dollars, and China's investment in these countries has surpassed 80 billion US dollars. The 82 cooperation parks jointly built by China and other participating countries have created more than 2 billion US dollars in tax revenue and about 300,000 jobs for host countries.

　　通过共建“一带一路”，牙买加、黑山、乌干达等国建起了第一条高速公路，白俄罗斯第一次发展起了自己的汽车制造业。截至2018年底，中欧班列已经联通亚欧大陆16个国家的108个城市，累计开行1.3万列，运送货物超过110万标箱。世界银行等国际机构最新研究表明，“一带一路”合作将使全球贸易成本降低1.1-2.2%，推动中国—中亚—西亚经济走廊上的贸易成本降低10.2%，还将促进2019年全球经济增速至少提高0.1%。

Through BRI cooperation, countries such as Jamaica, Montenegro, and Uganda now have their first expressways, and Belarus has developed its own car industry. By the end of 2018, China-Europe rail service had connected 108 cities in 16 countries in Asia and Europe. A total of 13,000 trains had carried more than 1.1 million TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit).

The latest studies by the World Bank and other international institutions suggest that the BRI cooperation will cut the costs of global trade by 1.1 to 2.2 percent and those of trade along the China-Central Asia-West Asia Economic Corridor by 10.2 percent. What is more, it will contribute at least 0.1 percent of global growth in 2019. The list of BRI success stories can go on and on.
