d. 系表分隔
即连系动词与表语之间有时会插入状语或别的成分，造成分隔，如：
It is, as it were，an arbitrary zero of reckoning，and the choice of it is in our power.
【译文】它仿佛是一个任意的计算零点，我们可以自由选择。
e. 复合谓语本身的分离
在复合谓语之间插人含有状语意义的介词短语或状语从句,使复合谓语本身产生分离现象。如：
Geometry factors for external spur gears with full-depth teeth are either given for loading at the pitch line or modified for the beginning of single-tooth contact.
【译文】全齿高直齿外齿轮的几何系数可由节线处的承栽状况得出，也可以根据单齿 接触情况的起始点进行修正而得。are given和are modified是谓语,are和given之间插入了副词either,造成了谓语本身的分离，are和modified之间的分离更是显而易见。
f. 固定搭配的分隔
介词与动词、名词或形容词构成很多固定搭配，这些固定搭配有时也会被插人成分所分 隔,如：
One of the problems of modern industry is the transportation of energy from the place at which it is available to the place at which it can be used most effectively.
【译文】现代工业的问题之一，就是如何将能源从开发地输送到可以最有效地利用能 源的地方。from ...与to ...两个介词短语之间有一个which引出的定语从句，使之产生分离现象， 因而不易看出transportation与to的关系。
