习主席强调，中国对非合作要做到“五不”，即：不干预非洲国家探索符合国情的发展道路，不干涉非洲内政，不把自己的意志强加于人，不在对非援助中附加任何政治条件，不在对非投资融资中谋取政治私利。

President Xi highlighted that China promises to follow a 'FIVE-NOs' approach in its relations with Africa. Those 'FIVE NOs' are: NO interference in African countries' pursuit of development paths that fit their national conditions; NO interference in African countries' internal affairs; NO imposition of our will on African countries; NO attachment of political strings to assistance to Africa; and NO seeking of selfish political gains in investment and financing cooperation with Africa. 

I firmly believe that there will be a brilliant prospect for China-Africa friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation in the years to come.

　　我们很高兴地看到，过去几个月里，非洲之角地区形势呈现了一系列积极向好的演变，伊萨亚斯总统以其政治家的智慧、远见和魅力在其中扮演了重要甚至关键角色。相关各国采取果敢举措实现和解，通过建设性努力巩固本地区的和平与稳定，这为本地区经济社会发展、持久和平以及互补合作极其有益。在此背景下，中国欢迎这些积极变化并愿在论坛北京峰会和“一带一路”建设确立的合作框架下，同包括厄特在内的地区各国加强各领域务实合作，继续为促进和巩固本地区和平与繁荣贡献积极力量。

We are so glad to see that in recent months, the regional situation of the Horn of Africa has experienced a series of positive and dynamic changes, President Isaias with his wisdom, insight and charisma of a statesman played a critical and significant role in it. The relevant countries took bold actions to reconcile each other and made constructive endeavors to consolidate peace and stability in this region, which is enormously conducive to economic and social development as well as to the durable peace and complementary cooperation in this region. Against this background, China welcomes the positive changes and stands ready to strengthen practical cooperation in various areas with Eritrea and all the other regional countries under the framework of FOCAC Beijing Summit and the BRI, and will continue to play a positive role in promotion and consolidation of peace and prosperity of the region.

　　近年来，中国稳居厄特第一大贸易伙伴国和投资方，中厄在基础设施建设、贸易投资、农业、矿业、教育、医疗卫生、绿色能源等诸多领域均取得丰硕成果，切实惠及两国人民。截至今年8月，厄特赴华培训总人数达到1100人，厄特中国政府奖学金赴华留学生近300人。

　　我认为，新时期中厄双边关系应重点把握好以下三个方面：

In recent years, China has remained to be Eritrea's largest trade partner and largest investor. Our cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, mining, housing, education, medical care and energy sectors have yielded fruitful results and brought real benefits to the peoples. Up until this August, 1,100 Eritreans have had training classes in China and nearly 300 Eritrean students obtained Chinese government scholarship. 

In my opinion, in the new era, China-Eritrea bilateral ties could focus on the following three major aspects:
