臂阳明有人顺徧齿者，名曰大迎，下齿龋取之。臂恶寒补之，不恶寒泻之。足太阳有入颃徧齿者，名曰角孙，上齿龋取之，在鼻与烦前。方病之时其脉盛，盛则泻之，虚则补之。一日取之出鼻外。

In the part of Hand Yangming Channel which ascends to enter into the cheekbone and spreads all over the roots of teeth, its acupoint is called Daying. When the dental caries is on the lower jaw. prick the Daying point. When ones arm has aversion to the cold, apply purging therapy. In the part of the Hand Taiyang Channel which enters into the cheek and spreads all over the roots of teeth, its acupoint is called Jiaosun. When treating the caries on the upper jaw. prick the Jiaosun point and other points in front of the nose and cheekbone. When the disease is at the beginning, if the pulse is overabundant, apply purging therapy, if the pulse is deficient, apply invigorating therapy. According to other version, the acupoints on the lateral side of the nose can also be pricked.

足阳明有挟鼻入于面者，名曰悬颅，属口，对入系目本，视有过者取之，损有余，益不足，反者益其[张介宾曰:“其”当作“甚”]。足太阳有通项入于脑者，正属目本，名曰眼系，头目苦痛取之，在项中两筋间，入脑乃别阴、阳娇，阴阳相交，阳入阴，阴出阳，交于目锐眦，阳气盛则镇目，阴气盛则瞑目。

The acupoint on the Foot Yangming Channel which runs closely to the nose and enters into the face is called Xuanlu. The channel that runs downwards belongs to the mouth and the channel that runs upwards connects the ocular connectors. Treat the abnormal location and purge when there is a surplus and invigorate when it is deficient. If the treating is on the contrary, the disease will be aggravated. The part of the Foot Taiyang Channel which reaches the neck and enters into the brain belongs directly to the ocular connectors which are the structures connecting the eyeballs with the brain, including the blood vessels and optic nerves. To headache caused by the ocular connectors, prick the acupoints between the two tendons on the neck. The Foot Taiyang Chanenl penetrates from the neck into the brain and then, divides into the Yinqiao Channel and the Yangqiao Channel respectively. These two channels intersect, and then, the Yang channel enters into the Yin one, and the Yin channel comes out from the Yang one, they intersect on the Jingming point on the inner canthus. When the Yang energy is overabundant, the eyes keep wide open frequently, when the Yin energy is overabundant, the eyes keep closed frequently.

热厥取足太阴、少阳，皆留之;寒厥取足阳明、少阴于足，皆留之。

To the syndrome of cold extremities due to heat-evil, prick the acupoint on the Foot Taiyin Channel of Spleen and that on the Foot Shaoyang Channel of Gallbladder; to the cold-type jue-syndrome, prick the acupoints on Foot Yangming Channel of Stomach and that on the Foot Shaoyin Channel of Kidney. It can also prick the points on the foot. In all the prickings, the needle should be retained.

舌纵涎下，烦愧，取足少阴。振寒洒洒，鼓颔，不得汗出，腹胀烦愧，取手太阴。刺虚者，刺其去也;刺实者，刺其来也。

When one's tongue is weak, unable to withdraw and curl, the saliva comes out spontaneously and he feels oppressive over the chest, prick the acupoints on the Foot Shaoyin Channel of Kidney. When one is cold, the two cheeks are trembling like beating a drum, and he has distention and oppression in the abdomen but has no sweat in the body, prick the acupoints on the Hand Taiyin Chanrel of Lung. When treating the asthenia-syndrome, prick the asthenic location where the Ying energy and the Wei energy have passed for invigorating, when treating the sthenia-syndrome, prick the sthenic location where the Ying energy and the Wei energy have come for purging.

春取络脉，夏取分腠，秋取气口，冬取经输，凡此四时，各以时为齐。络脉治皮肤，分腠治肌肉，气口治筋脉，经输治骨髓、五脏。

When treating in spring, prick the acupoints between the collateral branches of the large channel, when treating in summer, prick the acupoints between the muscle and the skin, when treating in autumn, prick the acupoints of the Cunkou area on the wrist over the radial artery, when treating in winter, prick the acupoints on the channel. In the four seasons, each has its definite sphere of pricking. When pricking the muscle and skin, it can cure the disease of the skin, when pricking the muscle, it can cure the disease of the muscle, when pricking the Cunkou, it can cure the disease of the tendon, when pricking the channel, it can cure the disease of the bone marrow and the five viscera.

身有五部:伏兔一;腓二，腓者腦也;背三;五脏之腧四;项五。此五部有痈疽者死。病始手臂者，先取手阳明、太阴而汗出;病始头首者，先取项太阳而汗出;病始足胫者，先取足阳明而汗出。臂太阴可汗出，足阳明可汗出。故取阴而汗出甚者，止之于阳;取阳而汗出甚者，止之于阴。

There are five crucial parts in the body to have carbuncle. They are: the musculus rectus fermoris (the most prominent portion of the muscle on the anterior aspect of the thigh resembling a prostrate hare when the knees are extended), the calf, the back, the shu-points of the five viscera and the neck. When the carbuncle is affected on the various parts stated above, the patient may die. When the disease is on the arm, prick the acupoints on the Hand Yangming Channel and that on the Hand Taiyin Channel to cause sweating; when the disease initiates from the head, prick the acupoints of Foot Taiyang Channel on the neck to cause sweating; when the disease is on the leg, prick the acupoints of Foot Taiyang Channel on theneck to cause sweating; when the disease is on the leg, prick the acupoints on the Foot Yangming channel first to cause sweating. Both pricking the acupoints of the Hand Taiyin Channel or that on the Foot Yangming Channel can cause sweating. As the Yin channel and the Yang channel are communicating, if the sweat is abundant when pricking the Yin channel, the sweat can be stopped by pricking the Yang channel; if the sweat is abundant when pricking the Yang channel, the sweat can be stopped by pricking the Yin channel.

凡刺之害，中而不去则精泄，不中而去则致气;精泄则病甚而框，致气则生为痈疽也。

Generally, in pricking, when the focus is hit and the needle is retained, it will purge the refined energy of the patient; if the focus is not hit and the needle is pulled out instantly, it will cause the evil energy to stagnate without dispersing. When the refined energy is purged, the disease will be aggravated and causes falling into a decline of the body; when the evil energy is stagnated, it will cause carbuncle.
