(The Pricking Therapy for Treating the Evils in the Five Viscera)

邪在肺，则病皮肤痛，寒热，上气喘[上气喘:《脉经》卷六第七“气”并重“气”字]，汗出，咳动肩背。取之膺中外腧，背三节五脏[背三节五脏:《甲乙》卷九第三作“椎”，无“五脏”二字]之傍，以手疾按之，快然，乃刺之，取之缺盆中以越之。

When the evil energy is in the lung, the patient will feel painful of the skin, he will have cold and heat, adverseness of vital energy, rapid breathing, sweating and cough to cause the shoulder and the back to become uncomfortable. When treating, prick the Zhongfu and the Yunmen points which are on the upper part and the lateral side of the chest, and prick the Feishu point beside the third vertebra of the back; press with force by hand first until the patient feels comfortable, and then, prick the acupoint. The disease can also be treated by pricking the Quepen point.

邪在肝，则两胁中痛，寒中，恶血在内，行善掣，节时脚肿[节时脚肿:《甲乙》卷九第四连上文“行善掣”作“珩节时肿善瘛”]取之行间以引胁下，补三里以温胃中，取血脉以散恶血，取耳间青脉，以去其掣[掣:《太素》卷二十二《五脏刺》作“痹”]。

When the evil energy is in the liver, the patient will have asthenia-cold of the middle warmer, stagnation of blood inside and swelling of the tibia joint to cause spasm often, when treating, prick the Xingjian point to lower the energy of the hypochondria, invigorate the Sanli point to warm the middle warmer, prick the superficial venules of the same channel to

scatter the malicious blood, prick the green collateral on the ear to remove the bi-syndrome.

邪在脾胃[脾胃:《脉经》卷六第五“脾”下无“胃”字]，则病肌肉痛。阳气有余，阴气不足，则热中善饥;阳气不足，阴气有余，则寒中肠鸣腹痛，阴阳俱有余，若俱不足，则有寒有热。皆调于三里。

When the evil energy is in the spleen, the muscle of the patient will be painful, if the Yang energy is overabundant and the Yin energy is deficient, there will be heat in the stomach and the patient will often get hungry; if the Yang energy is deficient and the Yin energy is overabundant, there will be cold in the stomach and the patient will have borborygmus and pain in the abdomen; if both the Yin and Yang are having a surplus or both of their energies are deficient, it shows some of the syndromes belong to cold and some of them belong to heat, when treating, all of them can be treated by pricking the Foot Sanli point.

邪在肾，则病骨痛阴痹。阴痹者，按之而不得，腹胀腰痛，大便难，肩背颈项痛。时眩。取之涌泉、昆仑，视有血者尽取之。

When the evil energy is in the kidney, pain in the bone, the yin-type bi-sydrome will occur. In the yin-type bi-syndrome, the painful location can hardly be detected by pressing with hand, the patient will have abdominal distention, lumbago, dyschesia, pain and stiffness in the shoulder, back and neck and he will have frequent dizziness. When treating, prick the Yongquan point and the Kunlun point, if the stagnated blood is seen, the superficial venules of the channel should also be pricked.

邪在心，则病心痛喜悲，时眩仆。视有余不足而调之其输也。

When the evil energy is in the heart, heartache will occur, the patient will be sorrowful and will often fall due to dizziness. When treating, observe the asthenic or sthenic condition of the disease first, then, prick the acupoint of the some channel.
