2. 原文名词是复数，如果必须在译文中表现出来，可采用以下几种形式：

1) 在事物名词前面加上“一些”、“各”、“一对”、“一双”、“成批”、“堆”、“群”等数量词，而在表示人物的名词之后加“们”、“之流”、“之辈”等，例如：

a. The drawer and drawee of a cheque must be distinct (different) parties.

一张支票的出票人和付款人必须是两个不同的单位。 (强调不同）

b. Nothing can escape his bright eyes.

什么都逃不过他那明亮的眼睛。（加强语气）

2) 在跟名词有关的动词或系动词前面或后面加状语“都”、 “尽”、“完全”等，例如:

a. Are the documents called for in the credit presented?

信用证规定的所有单据是否都交齐了？

b. The marks and numbers in the invoice must all agree with those on the bill of lading and other documents.

发票上列明的标记(唛头)与货号必须和提单及其他单据上的完全一致。

3) 名词的复数形式用叠词来表示，例如：

a. Days passed, then weeks. One crisis followed another. But at last came the news which everyone had been waiting for.

日子一天一天地过去，一周又一周地流逝。危机一个接着一个。但是他们盼望已久的消息终于传来了。

b. Thousands upon thousands of people shed tears on hearing the sad news.

成百上千（数以千计）的人听到这一噩耗都流了泪。

c. …"A lot of the billing frauds seem insignificant," says Ed Lueckenhoff, chief of the FBI's health-care- fraud unit. “But if you multiply that times thousands, if adds up to a lot of money. And this is a systematic scheme that is taking place with thousands of patients and thousands of procedures. ”
