英语中被动语态的使用多于中文。英文中有许多需要使用被动语态的情况，在汉语中不需要使用被动语态。英语中被动语态的一般句式是:主语+谓语（被动式）+ by +动作者，如The book was published by Oxford University Press.而汉语中则为：主语 +被十动作者+谓语，如他被大家推选为临时召集人。两种语言使用被动语态频率的差异和被动语态语序差别给同声传译带来相当的困难。为了尽量减少语序的颠倒，按顺句驱动的思路，同传中经常把被动语态的句子断在谓语，然后再用一些同声传译技巧处理动词后面的部分。

 

方法之一：动词转化为名词

1.The problem of refugees should be dealt with in an integrated manner.

难民问题的处理应采用综合的方法。

2.The relationship between the two countries was characterized by mutual understanding.

这两国关系的特点是相互谅解。

 

方法之二:把by开始的短语转成“由于”、“因为”开始的短语或从句

3.Such a viewpoint, particularly prominent in the developing countries, is reinforced by the widely-held belief that it is not the peaceful application of nuclear energy that is endangering the survival of mankind.

这种观点在发展中国家尤为突出，这种观点的强化是因为存 在着一种普遍持有的信念，即和平利用核能并没有危及人类的生 存。

 

4.It is a long way from Peking to London. The distance has sometimes seemed compounded by historical, philosophical and political gaps in our outlooks.

北京和伦敦相距遥远。这个距离有时似乎更加扩大了，因为 历史上、哲学上和政治上，我们的观点差异甚大。

 

 

5.Liberalization of trade and investment has been influenced by the expansion and intensification of regional integration efforts.

贸易和投资的自由化已受到了影响，由于区域一体化努力的 普遍加强。
