忆往昔岁月流金，看今朝前景光明。中国发展好了，非洲发展会更顺；非洲发展顺了，中国发展会更好。中非、中赞关系以及务实合作已进入换挡加速、提质增效的新时期，在此背景下，中非合作论坛北京峰会将为赞比亚带来三大新机遇：

　　一是发展战略梯次对接的历史机遇。中国倡导的“一带一路”坚持“适应非洲自身发展、不附加任何政治条件、坚持互利共赢”原则，通过加强国际合作，促进优势互补，实现共同发展。南非、肯尼亚、卢旺达等近30个国家已加入“一带一路”这个惠及全球的重要倡议，共同做大发展蛋糕。赞比亚位于地区中心，区位优势明显，具有成为“一带一路”延伸的重要支点和区域中心的潜力。“一带一路”倡议和赞比亚《第七个五年发展规划》相对接，将为中赞合作提供新平台、新契机。

The upcoming FOCAC Beijing Summit will create three opportunities for Zambia:

Firstly there will be a historical opportunity to synergize the development strategies. The "Belt and Road" Initiative advocated by China adheres to the principle of "adapting to Africa's own development, not attaching any political conditions, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation". By strengthening international cooperation, all countries could promote complementary advantages and achieve common development. Nearly 30 African countries including South Africa, Kenya and Rwanda have already joined the "Belt and Road" Initiative. Zambia is located in the center of the region, enjoys obvious geographical advantages and has the potential of becoming a key player in the "Belt and Road" Initiative as well as a regional hub for connectivity. The combination of the "Belt and Road" Initiative and the Seventh National Development Plan of Zambia will provide a new platform and new opportunities for China-Zambia practical cooperation.

　　二是合作模式转型升级的重大机遇。随着中赞经贸务实合作深入发展，工业园区建设经营、加工制造业转移、金融服务等逐渐成为新增长点，正逐步改变着工程承包、一般商品贸易、矿业投资占主导的局面。中方积极鼓励中国企业加大直接投资，升级合作模式。作为全球第二大进口国和消费国，中国未来五年将进口超过10万亿美元的商品和服务，赞比亚产品扩大对华出口正逢其时。

　　三是民心相通观念更新的难得机遇。赞比亚有近4000名留学生在中国学习，每年还有近1000人赴华接受培训。中方愿与赞方共同探讨治国理政经验，继续加强在文化、教育、旅游等领域交流，推动两国地方交往成为新亮点，不断拉近民众感情。

Secondly there will be an important opportunity for the transformation and upgrading of the cooperation model. With the in-depth promotion of China-Zambia economic and trade cooperation, the construction and operation of industrial parks, the transfer of processing and manufacturing industries, and financial services have gradually become new growth points, which are gradually changing the current models of engineering contracting, general commodity trade, and mining investment. China actively encourages its companies to increase direct investment and upgrade cooperation models. As the world's second largest importer and consumer, China will import more than 10 trillion USD of goods and services in the next five years, and the expansion of Zambia's export to China is at the right time.

Thirdly there will be a rare opportunity for people to people exchanges. There are nearly 4,000 Zambian students studying in China, and nearly 1,000 people go to China for training every year. China is willing to further discuss its experience on governance with Zambia, continue to strengthen exchanges in the fields of culture, education, tourism, promote sub-national exchanges between the two countries, so as to bring the two peoples closer.
