Ambassador Li Jie's Article "Forum on China-Africa Cooperation – Strong Propeller for Future Development" Published by Zambian Mainstream Media

　2018年8月20日，驻赞比亚大使李杰在赞第一大报《每日邮报》发表署名文章《中非合作论坛：未来发展的强力助推器》，全文如下：

　　再过2个多星期，伦古总统将率团出席中非合作论坛北京峰会。这将是继2015年后伦古总统第2次访问中国。中国国家主席习近平将与伦古总统举行双边会见。本次峰会将以“合作共赢，携手构建更加紧密的中非命运共同体”为主题，重点把中非共建“一带一路”、联合国2030年可持续发展议程、非盟《2063年议程》以及包括赞比亚《第七个五年发展规划》在内的非洲各国发展战略结合起来，描绘合作共赢的新规划，开辟共同发展的新前景。

On 20th August, the article titled "FOCAC: Strong Propeller for Future Development" by H.E. Mr. Li Jie, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, was published on Zambia Daily Mail, a local mainstream newspaper. Following is the full text of the article:

In two weeks' time, H.E. President Edgar Lungu will attend the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). This will be his second visit to China, after the state visit in 2015. H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of China, will hold a bilateral meeting with H.E. President Edgar Lungu.

The FOCAC Beijing Summit is under the theme of "win-win cooperation and join hands to build a closer community with a shared future for China and Africa". The Chinese side and the African side will endeavor to combine the theme of the Summit with the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations, the Agenda 2063 of the African Union as well as the development strategies of various African countries such as the Seventh National Development Plan of Zambia, to chart new blue print for win-win cooperation and open up new prospects for common development.

　　多年来，中非始终真诚友好、团结合作，早已成为休戚与共的命运共同体和合作共赢的利益共同体。历史上，中国同非洲国家一样，都有过被外国掌控经济命脉，被剥削压迫的惨痛经历。在上世纪都不富裕的年代，毛泽东主席和卡翁达总统等中非老一代领导人基于共同的被殖民遭遇、发展任务和政治诉求，同呼吸、共命运，开创了深厚的中非、中赞友谊，铸就了坦赞铁路等一座座中非、中赞友谊的丰碑。

For decades, China and Africa have treated each other with sincerity and friendship. Indeed, we are already a community with a shared future and common interests, featuring solidarity and win-win cooperation.

China, like African countries, has a painful history of foreign colonization and being exploited and oppressed by foreign powers. During the era of poverty in the last century, China and Africa's leaders of the old generation including Chairman Mao Zedong and Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, shared a common destiny based on the common colonial encounters, development tasks and political demands. They established a profound brotherly China-Africa and China-Zambia friendship, and have created many monuments between China and Africa, China and Zambia such as TAZARA.
