1.语言是挢梁。不同国家，民族间的友好相处，必须借助语言这座沟通的桥梁。中国经历了30多年的改革开放，与世界的关系也发生了深刻变化。中国始终认为世界的文明具有多样性。中西方要学会在“和而不同” 中共同发展、相向而行，就需要加强相互了解，需要更多了解对方的文化，学会对方的语言，增进彼此的沟通。
Language is a bridge of friendship between different countries and nations. With more than 30 years of reform and opening up, China has seen significant changes in its relations with the world. It feels strongly about the diversity of civilizations. We believe that China and the West need to seek harmony in diversity for common development. We need to enhance mutual understanding through greater knowledge about each other's language and culture.

2.目前全球已有100多个国家3000多所高等学校开设了中文课程，中国在全世界87个国家建有281所孔子学院和93个孔子课堂。全美已建孔子 学院65所。全美开设中文课程的中小学已近800多所，学习中文的学生超过14万人。
Currently, more than 3000 colleges and universities in over 100 countries have offered Chinese courses. China has set up 281 Confucius Institutes and 93 Confucius Classes in 87 countries. In the US, there are 65 Confucius Institutes. Nearly 800 primary and secondary schools throughout the US have included Chinese into their curriculum and more than 140,000 students have been involved in those courses.

3.英国出现了“汉语热”，同时中国持续着“留英热”，中国目前在英的留学生约有10万人，现在无论在英国哪个大学，都能看到中国留学生的身影。两国高校间业已建立了100多对校际交流机制，加强教学科研合作, 共同培养高层次人才。两国政府教育部门也建立了定期会晤机制，签署了包括相互承认学历和加强教育交流与合作等多项协议。
Alongside the mandarin fever in the UK, there is a UK study fever in China. There are now approximately 100,000 Chinese students in the UK. Whichever university you go to in the UK, you are likely come across Chinese students. Over 100 sister relationships have been set up between our universities to strengthen teaching and research cooperation and jointly develop high-level talent. The education authorities of our two countries have also initiated regular meetings and signed a number of agreements on mutual recognition of academic degrees and the strengthening of exchanges and cooperation.

4.出版物是传播思想、知识、信息的重要媒介，是世界近距离观察当代中国、感知中华文化的重要窗口。此次参加法兰克福书展的中国出版物丰富多彩，琳琅满目，包罗万象，涵盖历史、文化、当代中国社会及中国的经济发展，能够很好地向世界介绍中国。
Publications are important media communicating ideas, knowledge and information and important windows for the world to have a close observation on modern China and feel the Chinese culture. The Chinese publishers have brought to the Frankfurt Book Fair a full range of delicately designed books introducing the Chinese history and culture and the modern social and economic development in China. These books are good media to introduce China.


5.此次中国展团参加伦敦书展实现了三个之“最”即参展机构最多，图书展品最多和展台面积最大。中国将是2012年伦敦书展的主宾国，希望中国出版业抓住参加国际书展的战略性机遇，拓展海外市场，向世界展示中华文化和当代中国风貌，让世界更好地了解中国。
The Chinese delegation to the London Book Fair had realized three“biggests”this time; the biggest amount of exhibitors, the biggest amount of books on display and the biggest booth area. China will be the guest of honor of the London Book Fair 2012. We hope the Chinese publishing industry may take the strategic opportunity of attending international book fairs to expand overseas markets, display the Chinese culture and views of the modern China to the world，and enable the world to get a better understanding of China.

6.中医药是中华文化的瑰宝和结晶，为中华民族的繁衍生息和繁荣发展作出了巨大贡献，作为世界医学宝库的一朵奇葩，中医药也促进了人类文明的进步和发展。中国驻外使馆愿意继续积极推动中外在中医药方面的交流与合作。
As gems and crystallization of Chinese culture, traditional Chinese medicine has contributed greatly to the procreation, prosperity and development of the Chinese nation. As an enchanting flower of world medicine treasure house, traditional Chinese medicine has also promoted progress and development of human civilization. Chinese embassies are ready to continue their efforts to play an active role in pushing for exchanges and cooperation in the field of traditional Chinese medicine between China and other countries.
