有些习语虽然在汉英两种语言中各有不同的形象或比喻，但它们的隐义和内容基本上是一致的。遇到这种情况，不妨借用英语同义习语来译。但在借用英语习语时，必须注意两种习语各自的特点，避免在时代、地点、条件、民族习惯、色彩等方面与原作的上下文形成矛盾。
