3. 逆序法

如果英语原句的表达顺序同汉语习惯恰好相反，为了使译文语句通顺、自然，逻辑关系明确无误，则应把句子各组成部分拆开后，用与原句相反的顺序译出。从这个意义上说，逆序法首先就是ー种分译。如：

例6 The Japanese suffered a major embarrassment recently when they had to cut short their annual whale-hunting season in the Antarctic after a fire crippled their main ship and killed a crewman.

不久前，ー场大火严重损坏了日本一艘在南极洲作业的大型捕鲸船并造成一名船员丧生，日本不得不缩短了本年度的捕鲸季，这起事件让日本十分尴尬。

例7 I feel there is no greater disrespect you can do to a person than to let them hang out in a job where they are not respected by their peers, not viewed as successful, and probably losing their self-esteem.

要是听任某人在一个岗位上无做作为，从而让同事们觉得他一事无成而不尊重他，这很可能使他自己失去自尊。我认为这才是对此人最大的不尊。
