随着众多的千里马主动脱颖(不，应该说是“脱缰”吧）而出，伯乐的大名在报刊上似乎在隐退之中而让位于“猎头公司”（Manhunters & Co)了。但是伯乐的历史意义和现实意还是不容忽视的---因为根据“有伯乐然后有千里马”的逻辑，既然要有千里马就不能没有伯乐。正是在这一意义上，我们也必需把“伯乐"译成英语。

伯乐之英译方法有两：一曰专名专译，用汉语拼音写（或说)成英语就成；二曰采取（“意义”之“义”）译，用英语把“发现天才者”这层意思译出来便是，这第二种译法自然要比前一种译法难。
说“难”也不难，比如说译成“talent explorer”之类不见得就错。问题是同行中有人提出异议：比如说，这样译有根据吗？那么，笔者就哑口无言——因为的确没有根据，是自己“杜译”的。

为此，就只好注意观察英语言语产品，以冀有所发现。后来终于找到了---“talent scou”是也。请看：

上列两例中的"talent scout”不就是发现“千里马”亚洲级影星的三位“伯乐”吗？
