帝曰:经虚络满，何如?岐伯曰:经虚络满者，尺热满脉口[《太素》“脉”下无“口”字]寒濇也，此春夏死秋冬生也。

Yellow Emperor asked:"What is the condition when the channel is asthenic but the collateral is sthenic ?" Qibo said: "When the channel-energy is asthenic and the collateral-energy is sthenic, the skin of the anterolateral side of the forearm will be hot and the pulse will be cold. If it appears in spring or summer, the patient will die, if it appears in autumn or winter, the patient can survive."

帝曰:治此者奈何?岐伯曰:络满经虚灸阴刺阳;经满络虚，刺阴灸阳。

Yellow Emperor asked:"How to treat the disease?" Qibo said: "When the collateral-energy is sthenic and the channel-energy is asthenic, treat Yin with moxibustion and prick Yang with needle: when the channel is sthenic and the collateral-energy is asthenic, prick Yin with needle and treat Yang with moxibustion."

帝曰:何谓重虚?岐伯曰:脉气上虚尺虚[明抄本作“脉虚气虚尺虚”]，是谓重虚。帝曰:何以治之?岐伯曰:所谓气虚者，言无常也。尺虚者，行步惬然。脉虚者，不象阴[于鬯说“阴”下脱“阳”字]也。如此者，滑则生，濇则死也。

Yellow Emperor asked: "What is double asthenia?" Qibo said: "When the pulse energy and the chi pulse (the proximal throbbing of the radial pulse) are all asthenic,it is called the double asthenia."

Yellow Emperor asked: "How to distinguish it?" Qibo said: "The asthenia of energy is due to the deficient energy of Tanzhong (Middle Chest) which cause the patient to have discontinuous speech; the asthenia of chi pulse is due to the weakness of the chi pulse which causes the patient to become timid and infirm in walking ; the asthenia of pulse is due to both the energy and blood are weak, and the Yin and Yang are not corresponding. The patient with these syndromes will survive if his pulse is slippery, will die if his pulse is choppy."

帝曰:寒气暴[《脉经》“暴上”作“上攻”]上，脉满而实何如?岐伯曰:实而滑则生，实而逆则死。

Yellow Emperor asked: "What does it imply when the cold-evil attack upwards and the pulse is full and sthenic?" Qibo said: "When the pulse condition is sthenic and slippery, it shows the patient will survive, when the pulse condition is sthenic, adverse and choppy, it shows the patient will die."
