(Vomiting Instantly after Food Intake)

黄帝日:气为上膈者，食饮[饮:《甲乙》卷十一第八无此字]入而还出，余已知之矣。虫为下膈，下膈者，食辟时乃出，余未得其意，愿卒闻之。岐伯日:喜怒不适，食饮不节，寒温不时，则寒汁流[流:卷十一第八作“留”于肠中[于肠中:《甲乙》卷十一第八无此三字]，流于肠中则虫寒，虫寒则积聚，守于下管[守于下管:《太素》卷二十六《虫痛》“下管”下重“守于下管”四字]，则肠胃充郭，卫气不营，邪气居之。入食则虫上食，虫上食则下管虚，下管虚则邪气胜之，积聚以留，留则痈成，痈成则下管约。其痈在管内者，即[即:《太素》卷二十六《虫痛》作“则沉”]而痛深;其痈在[在:《甲乙》卷十一第八“在”下有“脘”字]外者，则痈外[痈外:按:“痈”字疑衍]而痛浮，痈上皮热。

Yellow Emperor said:"When one has detention of the functional activities of vital energy it causes one vomit as soon as he takes in the food, and I have known the condition. When one has worm inside to cause the deferable vomiting, he vomits in a day and night after taking in the food, I don't understand its reason, and I hope you can tell me in detail." Qibo said: "This kind of disease is formed by improper overjoy and anger, irregular eating and drinking and dressing at will not in accord with the weather, consequently, the stomach energy is injured, the cold fluid retains in the intestine causing the parasites to feel cold and accumulate in the lower part of the gastric cavity, in this way, the intestine and stomach will be expanded, the spleen energy will fail to operate, and the evil energy will be retaining. When one takes in the food, the parasites take food also, when they take food, the lower part of the gastric cavity will be empty, and the evil energy takes the opportunity to invade, due to the retention of the evil energy, the deep-sited abscess will be shaped up causing the lower gastric cavity to become hard to restrain. When the abscess is in the lower gastric cavity, it willl cause deep and acute pain; when the abscess is outside of the lower gastric cavity, the pain will be shallow and floating, and the skin on the site of the abscess will be hot."

黄帝日:剌之奈何?岐伯曰:微按其痈，视气[气:张注本作“其”]所行，先浅刺其傍，稍内益深，还而刺之，毋过三行，察其沉浮，以为深浅。已刺必熨，令热入中，日使热内，邪气益衰，大痈乃溃。伍以参禁，以除其内，恬惰无为，乃能行气，后以咸苦[以咸:《甲乙》卷十一第八作“服酸”]，化谷乃下矣。

Yellow Emperor asked: "How to treat this kind of disease by pricking?" Qibo said:"Press slightly the site of the abscess with hand, examine the flowing direction of the energy, prick shallowly by the side of the focus first, then prick deeper gradually and finally insert the needle; the pricking must not exceed three times, prick shallowly or deeply according to the depth of the abscess. After the pricking, apply the topical application of heated drugs to cause the heat to penetrate inside, when the heat is penetrated inside every day, the evil energy received previously will decline gradually, and the large carbuncle with pus and blood will be relieved. Besides, one should aply the method of the Three and Five contraindications to remove the cause of disease in the body. The patient must completely free of wishes or ambition, indifferent to fame and gain and free from destracting thoughts, so as his health energy may be unimpeded; soon afterwards, the patient should be recuperated with medicine and food of sour and bitter tastes; when the food can be digested by the patient, the syndrome of deferable vomiting will be eliminated."
