中非人口加起来超过24亿，占世界三分之一多。加强中非合作不仅有利于促进中非各自发展，为世界和平与发展事业作出重要贡献，也有利于加强南南合作，维护发展中国家的整体利益，推动世界格局向更加均衡和合理的方向发展。中非再次举办峰会，将有力彰显发展中国家团结合作的力量，并向世界发出中国和非洲共同求和平、促发展、谋合作的时代强音。
China and Africa's population adds up to more than 2.4 billion and accounts for over a third of the world's total. Stepping up China-Africa cooperation not only contributes to China and Africa's development, which is conducive to world peace and development. It also helps step up South-South cooperation, uphold the interests of developing countries as a whole, and make the international order more equitable and reasonable. China and Africa holding the second FOCAC summit will demonstrate developing countries' strength of unity and cooperation, and send a strong signal of China and Africa working together for peace, development and cooperation.

此次峰会的主题是"中非携手并进：合作共赢、共同发展"。
The theme of the upcoming summit is China and Africa Progressing Together: Win-Win Cooperation for Common Development.
第一关键词是携手并进，这一理念植根于中非之间源远流长的传统友好与相互支持。早在15世纪初，中国航海家郑和的船队就曾四次到达非洲东海岸。那时的中国是世界第一强国，我们给非洲带去了丝绸和瓷器，带去了友好和善意，没有抢占非洲的一寸土地，也没有带回来一个奴隶。
The first keyword is progressing together. This spirit is rooted in the long-standing traditional friendship and mutual support between China and Africa. Early in the 15th century, China's navigator Zheng He headed his fleet and arrived at the east coast of Africa for four times. That was a time when China was the strongest in the world. What they brought to Africa were silk and porcelain, and friendship and goodwill. They did not grab an inch of land. Nor did they ever take back one single slave.
中非从来都是命运共同体，共同的事业和追求把我们紧紧地连在一起。
China and Africa have always been in a community of shared future. Our common cause and common aspiration have bonded us closely together.
我们不会忘记，上世纪中叶，率先赢得民族解放的中国人民全力支持非洲国家反对霸权主义、反对殖民主义和争取民族独立和解放的正义斗争，双方结下了深厚友谊。周恩来总理历时两个月访问非洲10国，同非洲领导人共叙友情、共商合作，留下许多感人至深的佳话，至今仍然鼓舞人心，被世人称颂。
We will never forget that in the middle of the last century, the Chinese people, after winning national liberation, gave full support to African countries in their just struggle to oppose hegemonism, colonialism and to gain national independence and liberation. The two sides forged deep friendship. Premier Zhou Enlai used to spend two months for his visit to 10 African countries, to promote friendly ties and cooperation with Africa, leaving behind touching stories which continue to inspire future generations of the world.
