Good morning, and a big welcome to the Lanting Forum.
12月4日至5日，我们将迎来中非关系史上一个重要时刻——中非合作论坛约翰内斯堡峰会在南非举行。习近平主席将同南非总统祖马共同主持这一峰会，50个非洲国家的元首、政府首脑或代表以及非盟委员会主席将共聚一堂。今年适逢中非合作论坛成立15周年，首次在非洲大陆举办的这一峰会，对中非关系发展具有承前启后的里程碑意义。
On 4 to 5 December, we will usher in an important moment in the history of China-Africa relations. The Johannesburg summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) will be held in South Africa. President Xi Jinping and South African President Zuma will co-chair this summit. The heads of state and government and representatives of 50 African countries and President of the AU Commission will gather together at the summit. The summit coincides with the 15th anniversary of FOCAC, and will be the first summit of FOCAC taking place on the African continent. It will be a milestone on which to build on past achievements and herald the future of China-Africa relations.
中非关系在中国外交中一直占有重要的位置。在中国外交的整体布局中，发展中国家是基础，非洲作为发展中国家最为集中的大陆，可以称为中国外交“基础中的基础”。
China-Africa relations have always had an important place on China's diplomatic agenda, and developing countries constitute the basis of China's overall diplomacy. Africa, being home to the biggest number of developing countries, is truly a major part forming the very basis of China's diplomacy.
中非友好是中国外交的传统，也是值得珍惜的财富。2013年，习近平主席就任国家主席后首次出访就选择了非洲，提出真实亲诚的对非政策理念和正确义利观，郑重宣布中国愿永远做非洲国家的可靠朋友和真诚伙伴，为中非关系发展指明了方向。2014年，李克强总理访问非洲，提出中非开展“六大工程”和“三大网络”合作倡议，为中非合作规划了蓝图。
Friendly relations with Africa form a good tradition of China's diplomacy. It is a valuable asset for us to be cherished. In 2013, President Xi Jinping chose Africa as the destination of his first foreign visit as the president of China, where he put forth the principles of sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith guiding China's policy on Africa, and called for taking the right approach to justice and interests in developing China-Africa relations. President Xi Jinping stated that China will forever be African countries' reliable friend and sincere partner. All this has charted the course for the development of China-Africa relations. In 2014, Premier Li Keqiang visited Africa and raised the cooperation initiatives involving six key projects and three major networks, drawing up the blueprint of China-Africa cooperation.
