汉语中有一些典型句式，如“以......为核心”、“围绕......这个核心问题”、“从......入手”、“在深入分析......的基础上”、“存在......问题”、“以......为例”。如果将这些句式直接翻译为英语，会使英语不堪重负。译者应当尽量抛弃这些句式，用简单的动词结构翻译出原文的实质含义。例如：

改译:

常见的句式还有：坚持......的原则，采取......办法，处于......状态，发挥......功能，起到.....作用，实现.....目标，完成......的任务，遵守(采取、坚持)......方针(政策)，实施......战略，采取......态度，出现......现象，处于......局面，以......为中心，以......为纲，以......为龙头，以为......龙尾，以......为两翼，以......为中心，以......为依托，以......为纽带，等等。这些句式，英文都不一定翻译出来。
