(二）转译为汉语动词

英语中某些由动词派生来的形容词，尤其是和介词搭配使用的形容词，往往需要转译为汉语的动词。

例如：

9. Chances of failure and disaster are ever present in all space flight.

所有的宇宙飞行都始终存在着失败和发生灾难的可能性。

10. The funds available to the US Navy for procurement and further development of guided projectile at present are rather limited.

目前，美国海军用于采购和研制制导炮弹的经费是相当有限的。

11. The amount of vitamin D in the milk is not adequate to the demand of the infant.

牛奶中维生素D的含量不能满足婴儿的需要。

12. Wateris a substance suitable for preparation of hydrogen and oxygen.

水是适于制取氢和氧的物质。

13. Patients with measles sometimes die of the associated pneumonia.

麻疹病人有时因并发肺炎而死亡。

(三）转译成汉语副词

如果英语的名词已经转译成汉语的动词或形容词，那么原来修饰名词的形容词也就需要转译成汉语副词了。例如： 

14. A graph gives a visual representation of the relationship.

图表可以直观地显示要说明的关系。

15. The cause of this phenomenon was a complete mystery to early man.

这一现象的起因，对前人来说全然是个谜。

16. The exemplary vanguard role of the communists is of vital importance.

共产党员的先锋模范作用极其重要。
