参训的100名妇女中，有80名来自乌波卢岛Faleapuna村、Afega村、Maagiagi村和萨瓦伊岛Safotu村。中国老师将培训他们一些基本的缝纫技能，包括如何操作脚踏式缝纫机，如何缝制童装、女装和男装等日常服饰。与去年相比，今年我们增加了一个高级缝纫技术培训，为20名来自萨服装产业、具备一定基础的工人提供更专业的培训，帮助他们进一步提高缝纫技术水平。

Among the 100 women who are going to receive the training this year, 80 are from the four villages in Uoplu and 20 are from one village in Sawaii. The Chinese teachers will teach 80 participants elementary sewing skills including how to operate pedal sewing machines, how to sew children's, women's and men's wear, etc. What's more, this year, there will be an advanced training course especially designed for 20 participants who will utilize electric sewing machines.

Ladies and gentlemen,

　　为了今天缝纫技术培训班的正式举办，有许多人在幕后付出了艰辛的努力。首先，我要感谢萨摩亚政府，特别是萨外交贸易部，妇女、社区和社会发展部，对本次培训的大力支持。他们与中国使馆共同探讨实施本项目，完善培训方案，协助选择部分村和学员，并提供了部分车辆用于运送培训物资。

　　其次，我要感谢不远万里来到萨摩亚的中国老师，他们中许多人是第二次来到萨摩亚。他们的敬业态度和奉献精神赢得了当地民众的尊敬。许多老师一到萨摩亚，没有休息，就开始紧张地组装缝纫机，每天工作到凌晨两点，周末也在加班。他们就希望尽快将自己的知识和技能传授给当地学员。今天，在开班前，这些老师完成了所有准备工作，非常不容易。我提议，让我们共同为这些可爱的老师鼓掌，向他们致谢！

The successful opening of this training program will not be possible without the concerted efforts of many people both from Samoa and China.

Firstly, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Samoan government, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Ministry of Women, Community and Social Development, for their strong support in collaboration with Chinese Embassy in implementing this program including selecting the villages and participants and providing vehicles for transporting the supplies for training purpose, etc.

Secondly, I would like to express our heartfelt appreciations to the Chinese teachers who have come all the way from China, and also to the Chinese engineers and technicians who have been based in Samoa for various China-Aid projects. In the past week, they have worked together day and night to assemble all the sewing machines, sometimes late into nights or during weekends, in order that all the machines could be assembled and ready for use in time for the training program. Now all these technical preparation work has been finished. Let us give all the teachers and engineers and technicians a big round of applause for their hard work. Thank you!
