Remarks by Ambassador Wang Xuefeng at Opening Ceremony of Training Course on Creative Handicrafts and Sewing Technology for Samoa

湖南外贸职业学院援萨境外培训的老师们，

各位参加培训班的学员朋友们，

　　我很高兴出席中国援萨摩亚境外培训项目——“2018年萨摩亚创意手工艺品和缝纫技术海外培训班”开班仪式。

　　这是中国政府为萨摩亚举办的第二期缝纫技术海外培训班。去年，中方在萨4个社区为80名未就业妇女培训缝纫技术，受到了萨摩亚朋友的热烈欢迎和一致称赞。经过培训，许多参训学员找到新的工作，获得了稳定收入，还将中国老师传授的缝纫技能又教给更多当地妇女，这些都实实在在地改善了许多家庭的生活。近一个月的培训结束后，中国老师与萨摩亚学员结下了深厚的友谊。临别之际，许多学员拉着中国老师的手，依依不舍地说：“你们能不能别走，永远留在萨摩亚。”中国老师感动地说：“明年我们还会回来”。应萨摩亚政府和民众的请求，今年，中国老师再次回到萨摩亚，为5个社区100名妇女提供缝纫技术培训。与去年相比，今年又增加了高级缝纫技能培训，为来自萨服装产业、具备一定基础的工人提供更专业的培训，帮助他们进一步提高缝纫技术水平。

It is with great pleasure that I come with my colleagues to attend the Opening Ceremony of Training Course on Creative Handicrafts and Sewing Technology for Samoa sponsored by the Chinese government.

This has been the second training course of its kind sponsored by Chinese government since last year. In August last year, 80 women from 4 villages received training through this training course. They not only learned sewing skills but also made good friends with Chinese teachers. Some Chinese teachers were very moved by the parting words of the Samoan friends: "Could you please stay with us in Samoa forever?" Now, we are so happy to see that Chinese teachers are back, providing the training again for even more women in more villages.
