(2)汉语反说，英语反译
①汉语用“无、不、没、未、别、休、莫、非、勿、毋”等词表示 “全部否定”的概念，英语中可用no, not, none, nobody, no one, nothing, nor, neither, nowhere等词以及加否定前缀 im-, in-, ir-, non-, un-和否定后缀-less等来对应翻译。
原文：学习外语离不开好的词典。
译文：A good dictionary is indispensable for learning a foreign language.

②汉语用“决不、永不、从不”表示“绝对否定”的概念，在英语中可用never,not at all, by no means, in no way, under no circumstances 等进行对译。
原文：在任何情况下我们都不应放弃希望。
译文：Under no circumstances should we give up our hope.

③汉语用“并非总是”、“不是太”表示“部分否定”的概念，在英语中可用 not every, not all, not much, not many, not always 等短语进行对译。
原文：不是每个人都能把自己的工作做好。
译文：Not every one can do his own job well.

④汉语用“几乎不、很少”表示“半否定”的概念，在英语中可用barely, hardly, rarely, scarcely, seldom 等半否定词进行对译。
原文：家里几乎没有什么煤了。
译文：There is hardly any coal left in the house.

(3)汉语反说，英语正译
英语中有ー类含有否定意义的词，它们形式上是肯定的，但意义是否定的，在翻译汉语否定句时，可直接使用，而不必再加否定助词no，not 等。此类英语词包括：动词 avoid，deny, escape, exclude, fail, ignore, keep ...from, lack, miss, refuse, refrain from, remove from, neglect, overlook ，save 等；名词 absence，exclusion，failure，ignorance，lack，neglect， refusal 等；连词 unless, till, until, lest, but 等；介词（短语）above, before. beneath (notice)，beyond ( belief), except, excluding，without, in place of, instead of, out of, in vain 等；形容词（短语）absent from, blind to (one's faults)，dead to (shame) f far from, free from (anxiety) , few, ignorant, little, new, strange, safe from, short of (the mark)等；副词（短语） little, otherwise, too...to 等。

原文：她忍住了没有笑出声。
译文：She refrained from laughing.

(4)双重否定的翻译
汉语和英语中都可以用“双重否定”来表示“肯定”，用以加强语气， 汉译英时可采取“否定词+ but”等方式处理。
原文：所有规则都有例外。
译文：There is no rule but has exceptions.

原文：没有你的帮助，我是不会按时完成这项工作的。
译文：But for your help, l should not have finished the work in time.
