4. 拆译与改变语序

英语重形合而汉语重意合，这一特点在金融英语中体现得尤为突出，因此在处理长句的翻译时，往往要先分析句子的结构和形式，然后再确定句子的功能和意义。

例如：The growth of class consciousness among the workers was inhibited by continued high levels of employment and rising earnings for almost 15 years, combined with the propaganda of views in the labor movement reflecting the influence of Keynesian theories about the ability of capitalism to solve permanently the problem of boom and bust" through a managed economy" of built-in stabilizers.[3]

这个句子是典型的形合句，通过使用分词短语（如“combined with”）、介词短语（如“through..”）、连词（如“and”）等连接手段组合而成。翻译时，必须采用拆散与改变语序的方法，理清头绪，分出层次，用多个句子来表达。

译文：将近十五年来，就业率一直保持高水平，工资收入不断增长。凯恩斯有一套理论，认为资本主义制度有能力通过名曰“内在稳定因素”的“国家调节经济”永远解决“繁荣与危机”交替出现的问题。而劳工运动则宣传反映凯恩斯理论影响的观点。这种种因素结合在一起，就使工人阶级觉悟的提高受到阻碍。

需要注意的是：运用这种拆散与改变语序的翻译方法，关键在于明确句子的主干和次要成分，选择好句型，恰当调整定语语序，灵活处理各种从句。

5. 寻找词语、句子之间的衔接和贯通性

在长句或是篇章翻译中，要注意句子之间的衔接，从衔接中理解词语的确切含义及用法，努力使词语与句子在结构上达成一致，以求得全文的贯通。

例： In ordinary short-selling,the seller may “borrow”the stocks to sell to a buyer from a third party, "covering" that loan at some later point. In naked short-selling, the "borrowing" step is eliminated by broker-dealers, who may do this legally.[4]

这段文字主要讲股票交易问题。第一句解释“short-selling”的意义，第二句解释“naked short-selling”的意义，整段文字旨在说明什么叫“赤裸[直接]卖空”。文中“covering'that loan at some later point”是对篇章做出正确的语义解释的关键性语义结构。从搭配性衔接来分析，这个词组可解释为“以后再补进”。

译文：在一般的空头股票交易中，卖方需从第三方“借”股票以卖给买方，以后再“补进”：而在这种直接卖空中，卖方不需向第三方“借债”而由股票经纪人合法地代劳。

6. 感情色彩的选取

英汉两种语言中，汉语里能够表达正反两种意思的词不少，英语里就更多了，在翻译金融英语句子时要根据上下文选取恰当的感情色彩词汇，否则译出的句子可能意义截然相反。

例:Be that as it may,the Bank of Canada did not take advantage of the re-emergence of free-trade trading in October 1950 to impose upon the market a Bank of Canada "clearing house"; in fact, they offered every assistance to the banks in arranging for establishment of a private brokerage system.

尽管这样，加拿大银行并没有利用（褒义，如加上“乘机”二字即成贬义）1950年10月再度出现的自由贸易，把一个加拿大银行“清算所”强加给金融市场。事实上，他们尽一切努力协助过这些银行去创立一种私营经纪制度。

例: An advancing rate tempts potential sellers to hold their foreign funds off the market in the hope of securing a better rate, while potential buyers may rush to cover requirements before the rate goes higher.

看涨的汇率诱使(贬义)潜在的卖汇人把外汇资金攥在手里不进入市场，以期卖得更好的价钱，而潜在的买汇人可能会在汇率进一步攀升之前就赶紧补进(褒义)所需要的头寸。

例:When the grain price was to be adjusted upward for the first time in 1988,a great many urban residents in various cities rushed to buy wheat flour and other foodstuffs. Such thing was not seen, however, in 1991 when the grain price was readjusted upward the second time.

1988年当粮食价格首次上调时，各地城市大批居民抢购(贬义)面粉和其他食品，然而1991年再次上调粮食价格时，这种情况就不见了。

同样的短语在不同的语境中体现的感情色彩也不一样，所以必须根据上下文以及作者在整篇文中所持的立场和态度来确定其褒贬含义。
