显然，原译的两个分句实为主从关系，却误译成并列句（Compound sentence) 。

改译 1: Because the order form was directed to a wrong plant，it could not be filled and returned in time.

改译 2: The order form could not be filled and returned because of its delivery to a wrong plant.

 

 

(三）主从隔离

从句与主句本为一个句子，二者共同组成主从复合句。若主句与从句用句号隔开，形成主从隔离便违反了从属关系，必然影响句子的统一性。这种情况既是修辞问题，也是语法错误。

 

例4. …, the calli were transfered to differentiation media (D1D4). On which, 100% of the calli produced shoots, and the shoots rooted by transfer to rooting medium (R).[…，愈伤组织转入分化培养基(D1D4)分化出苗率达100%，将苗转移到生根培养基（R)上幼苗即可生根。]

 

例4. 中的关系代词 which 代 differentiation media(D1D4), on which引导定语从句，不能另起句，which后面也不能用逗号。

 

另外，例4.译文中的介词短语by transfer lo rooting medium与主语the shoots关系不密切，是一个悬垂片语，不能表迖明确的意思。关于悬垂片语，在后面还要详细讨论。

改译：…，the calli were transfered to differentiation media (D1D4) on which 100% of the calli produced shoots and the shoots rooted after being transfered to the rooting medium (R).
