科技论文的结束语(Conclusion)一般措词严谨、逻辑性严密，文字鲜明具体，语句简炼明了。内容包括结论或建议。英译时常用的一些表达方式如下：
1. 表示“结论”的一些表达方式
(1) 表示作者肯定的结论，英译时常用动词Conclude或其名调形式Conclusion。例如：
1) 实验人员断定，要用的材料是不良导体。
The experimenter concluded that the material to be used is not a good conductor.
2) 根据他们的测量结果，可以断定……
From the results of their measurements it can be concluded that……
3) 我们所得的结论是：……
We come to the conclusion that……
(2) 表示一般公认的结论，英译时常用以下句式：
1) It is general (widely) accepted that……
2) It is general (widely) believed that……
3) It is general (widely) held that……
4) It is general (widely) acknowledged that……
例如：
1)一般认为，辐射对人体组织是有害的。
It is general accepted that irradiation is destructive to human tissues.
2) 普遍这种材料能承受强大应カ和高温。
It is widely acknowledged that these materials can withstand strong stress and high temperature.
(3)表示试验结果、统计结果、资料分析等得出的结论，英译时常用 show, indicate, demonstrate, point out等动词（短语)。例如：
1) 研究结果表明试验期间重量没有显著变化。
Results show that there was no significant change in weight during the period of study.
2) 我们的研究结果表明两者之间的差异并不很大。
Our study indicates that the difference between them is not very great.
