让步状语从句的译法

英语中由 no matter what, whatever, whenever, wherever, whichever, whether, or 等引导的让步状语从句常可译为汉语的无条件分句。所谓无条件分句，即表示在任何条件下，主句的行为和动作都不受影响，或不会改变。汉译时，常常译为“不论”、“不管”、 “无论”等，或根据上下文灵活翻译。如：
* No matter what the shape of a magnet may be, it can attract iron and steel.
不论磁体形状如何，它都能吸引钢铁。
* The law of reflection holds good for all surfaces, whether rough or smooth, plane or curved.
反射定律对一切表面都适用，不管是粗糙的还是光滑的，不管是平面的还是曲面的。
* Concrete block walls will be provided wherever required for fire protection.
凡是需要防火的地方都将采用混凝土砖块砌墙。
* However carefully boiler casings and steam pipes are sealed, some heat escapes and is lost.
锅炉売体和蒸汽管无论怎样仔细地密封，总有一些热量要漏出来损失掉。
