译文说明：
按脉亦可译作taking pulse由于按脉是中医特有的诊病方式，不言而喻，所以译文没有将“中医”专门译出。
例2:古代按脉时，医冢至少要观察脉搏眺动50次，以辨别其变化。
In ancient times, physician felt the patient's pulse for at least fifty heats in order to discriminate its changes.
译文说明：
在这句话中，按脉只能译作feel pulse，而不宜译作take pulse。这主要是行文的要求，与语义转换无关。原文中“按脉”和“观察”在语义上有互补性，所以译文综其要义，以feel pulse—词统而译之，从而简洁了译语。
例3:用左手按诊病人的右手，用右手按诊病人的左手。
(physicians) Take the patient's right pulse with the left hand and take the patient's left pulse with the right hand.
译文说明：
“按诊”这里显然指的按脉。译文将“按诊”译作take pulse, 主要考虑到take的动性较强。因为本句从中文来看，含有一定的祈使成份，译成英语时则完全成了祈使句，故应采用动性较强的词来翻译。
例4：善诊者，察色按脉，先别阴阳。
The skilled diagnostician examines complexion and feels the pulse to differentiate yin and yang first.
译文说明：
“善诊者”指善于诊断的医生，译文译作diagnostician主要是为了强调“诊”之意，当然也可译作physician或doctor。“察色”之“色”显然指的是面部表情，一般译作complexion，也有人译作countenance，也有译作facial expression，但以前者最为常用。
例5：按压这些穴位可以使病人的主要症状立即获得明显缓解或消失。
When pressure is applied at these points, the patient's main symptoms may immediately be alleviated significantly or eliminated completely.
译文说明：
在翻译“按压这些穴位时”，“按压”可以译成动词，即When these points are pressed，亦可如译文那样译成名词。但若译成名词时，需要与apply to这个英语短语结合起来使用。
