1. 针灸 针灸的译语acupuncture and moxibustion业已国际标准化。但因词形偏长，使用时多有不变。为了简化起见，我们可以将这两个术语掐头去尾组合成acumoxi这样一个较为简洁的译语。作为一个构词成份，acu-已在中医英语上约定俗成地用以指acupuncture，由其构成的许多译语现已广为流行，如acupoint (穴位)，acutherapy (针刺疗法）等等。近年来，国内外已有不少译者采用acumoxi翻译“针灸”，收到了比较好的交际效果。
2. 针法 可译为acupuncture，与其相关的术语的译法如下：
进针 inserting the needle
运针 manipulating the needle
捣针 thrusting the needle
弹针 vibrating the needle
留针 retaining the needle
搓针 rotating the needle
摇针 shaking the needle
循针 guiding the needle
退针 retreating the needle
出针 withdrawing the needle
3.十二刺 指古代应用的十二种刺法，可译为twelve acu techniques，与其相关的术语的译法如下：
报刺 trigger puncture
偶刺 paired puncture
恢刺 lateral puncture
齐刺 triple puncture
扬刺 quintuple puncture
直针剌 perpendicular puncture
短刺 short puncture
浮刺 superficial puncture
阴剌 yin puncture
傍针刺 straight-side puncture
赞刺 repeated shallow puncture
4. 灸法 通译为moxibustion，近年来虽有人提出了其它一些译法，但未能得到大家的接受，常见的灸法有以下几种：
直接灸 direct moxibustion
间接灸 indirect moxibustion
瘢痕灸 scarring moxibustion
回旋灸 mobile moxibustion
温和灸 warm moxibustion
冷灸 cold moxibustion
雀啄灸 sparrow-pecking moxibustion
