有法必依、违法必究是所有法治社会的基本要求，任何一个西方国家都不可能接受不受法律约束的民主自由。纵容暴力就是鼓励违法，就是破坏法治。相信包括冰岛在内的任何国家政府都不会对暴力行径和非法游行坐视不管。当前，止暴制乱、恢复秩序是香港最急迫的任务，也是绝大多数香港民众的诉求。我们相信，香港特区政府有能力恢复法治和秩序，特区司法机构和警队会坚决捍卫香港法治。中国中央政府将继续坚定支持特区政府依法施政，支持香港恢复法治与稳定，支持香港的繁荣与发展。
It is a basic requirement of any society under the rule of law to enforce laws and regulations and prosecute any illegal acts. It is impossible for any western country to accept democracy and freedom unbounded by law. Conniving in violence is encouraging the violation of law and undermining the rule of law. No country or government in the world, including Iceland, would sit back and watch while violence and illegal demonstrations rage on. At present, the priority is to support the SAR Government in ending violence and restoring order, which also answers the appeal of the vast majority of Hong Kong people. We believe that the Hong Kong SAR Government has the ability to restore the rule of law and order. The SAR judiciary and the police force will resolutely defend the rule of law in Hong Kong. The Chinese Central Government will continue to firmly support the SAR Government in administering Hong Kong in accordance with the law, support Hong Kong in restoring the rule of law and stability for its prosperity and development.
维护香港繁荣稳定不仅造福于香港人民，也符合国际社会的共同利益。希望冰岛朋友们支持香港特区政府和广大民众向暴力行径说不，守护法治，尽快恢复社会正常秩序，从而为发展经济、改善民生创造条件，使香港这一“东方之珠”在不久的未来再现辉煌。
It is in the interests of both Hong Kong people and the international community to have a prosperous and stable Hong Kong. I hope that the Icelandic friends will support the Hong Kong SAR government and its people to say NO to the violence, to protect the rule of law and restore social order in a timely manner and to pave the way for its economic development and the improvement of people's livelihood, so that Hong Kong, the "Pearl of the Orient" will once again shine brightly in the future.
