A: On November 26, a US Navy ship trespassed into China's territorial waters off the Xisha Islands without approval. China immediately sent military vessels and aircraft to identify and verify the US warship in accordance with the law, and warned it off. The Chinese side has lodged solemn representations with the US side.
I shall point out that the relevant move of the US warship has violated the Chinese laws and relevant international laws, severely undermined China's sovereignty and put in jeopardy the peace, security and sound order in relevant waters. China firmly opposes the relevant action of the US side and urges it to immediately stop such provocation that infringes upon China's sovereignty and threatens China's security. China will continue to take necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and security.
