专八翻译考试中词的增补

原文：这个车间既做来料加工，也做来样加工。
译乂： This workshop processes raw materials on client's demand and processes according to investor's samples as well.
分析：汉语许多词语重意合，其外形不完整，其含义靠人们的语言习得去感悟。“来料加工”、“来样加工”都是浓缩的意合词，应译出完整含义。
原文：这是黄河滩上的一幕。（2007年真题）
译文：This is a scene taking place on the shore of the Yellow River.
分析：在翻译“这是黄河滩上的一幕”时，将taking place加人译文中，这样就将一幅羊群正在美丽的河畔吃草的画面栩栩如生地呈现出来。
(3)文化背景解释的需要
英汉文化差异的存在使得英语和汉语的原文中包含着许多文化色彩浓厚且不易为译文读者所理解的词语。因此在翻译过程中需要使用增词译法， 把相关文化背景知识翻译出来。
原文：三个臭皮匠，胜过诸葛亮。
译文： The wit of three cobblers combined surpasses that of Zhuge Liang, the master mind.
原文：黄鼠狼给鸡拜年。
译文：The weasel goes to pay his respects to the hen-not with the best of intentions.
