重点

1. come by

come by,意为“作短暂拜访”,通常指为看望某人

例:I’m so excited to know that you're moving to the new apartment near us. Please come by whenever you want!

知道你要搬到我们附近的新公寓去,我很兴奋。你想来我家玩时,我们随时恭候欢迎。

2. appointment

[ C ] ~ (with sb) a formal arrangement to meet or visit sb at a particular time, especially for a reason connected with their work 约会;预约;约定

例:She made an appointment for her son to see the doctor. 她为儿子约定了看医生的时间。

Date  朋友间的约会

eg: I have a date with a friend.

3. expect

to be waiting for sb/sth to arrive, as this has been arranged 等待;期待;盼望

例:to expect a visit/call/letter from sb 等待某人的来访╱电话╱来信

例:Are you expecting visitors? 你在等客人吗?

例:We were expecting him yesterday. 我们昨天一直在等他。

4. put sb down for sth = have sb. down for  sth.登记, 注册, 将(某人的名字)列入候补人的名单

例: I put you down for the roast beef.

我给你订的主菜是烤牛肉。

5.  职场词汇

fully engaged安排满的

例: His schedule is fully engaged.

他的时间表是安排很满的。

Punctual  准时的

in charge of 负责

例: Scott is in charge of marketing and he is always punctual.

Postpone  延期

V-T If you postpone an event, you delay it or arrange for it to take place at a later time than was originally planned. 推迟

例:He decided to postpone the expedition until the following day.

他决定将探险活动推迟到第二天。
