(3) 英语被动句中ー些作地点状语、方式状语等的介词短语，其介词后的名词常常可译为汉语句子的主语（其中引导名词的介词常常省略不译)，而原句子中的主语译为汉语句子的宾语，从而将整个句子译为汉语的主动句。如：
* Matter is transoorted in a circulatory system.
循环系统输送物质。
* Synchronous motors may be used for almost any constant-speed drive requiring about 100 hp or over.
几乎任何一种需要100马力以上的恒速驱动装置都可使用同步电动机。
* A smelting reduction process has been developed at Kawasaki Steel Corp. to make use of inexpensive ore fines, low grade coke and coal.
为了利用便宜的矿粉、低等级的焦炭和煤，川崎钢铁有限公司开发了熔融还原法。
在翻译这类句子时，其体现被动语态的动同的翻译要根据具体情况来译，有时常 译为“有”。如：
* Laser protection filters are provided in eyepieces.
目镜内有激光防护滤镜。
* To handle the large quantity of swarf produced, four paddles are fitted to the indexing table.
为了处理所产生的大量切屑，分度工作台装有4个刮板。
* A second panel that will visually display any alarm condition in the buildina can be provided in the Mechanical System Control Office.
机械系统控制办公室备有另一个仪表板.将清楚地显示楼内的任何险情。
