2. 引导让步状语从句
whether引导让步状语从句，可译为“不论……（是否)”、“不管……（是否)”等。
如：
* The molecules have this random motion whether or not a temperature qradient exists in the gas.
不论气体中是否存在有温度梯度，气体分子总是进行这种无规律的运动。
* Whether or not the speed is constant, the averaae speed is the distance the body moves divided by the time required for the motion.
不论速度是否恒定，平均速度总是物体通过的距离除以运动所需的时间。
