发挥译语优势，注重读者效应

156 kilometers (1,5-hour drive) away from Chengdu City in the Sichuan basin，southwest of China, stands the Mt. Emei with its summit Jinding(the Golden Top) towering above range upon range of rolling mountains stretching westward, all covered with snow, and in an eastward distance lying a wide expanse of flat land. // It boasts of its mountainous spectacles of clouds sea, sunrise, and the marvelous natural phenomena of “Buddha's Halo” and “Holy Lamp”，as well as its natural landscapes filled with large-green-woods, exuberant vegetation, flowers, streams, waterfalls, etc.. // As one of the best-known tourist attractions, Mt, Emei been listed as a World Natural and Cultural Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
译文同样充满诗情両意，只是结构更紧凑，逻辑史合理(按英语的逻辑层次将原文四个平行铺排的松散句式整合为二个结构紧凑的主从复合句，有增有减。见斜线标记处另外，原文中“云海、日出、佛光、圣灯”四大竒观在汉语中可笼统提出，在英语中却有逻辑不清之嫌：“云海、日出”为客观自然景象，“佛光、圣灯”则是由自然现象变化出的幻景，二者不属同一类事物，因而译文采用增译的手法将其区别开来，逻辑上似乎合理一些，表达也更清晰。
另外，从强化文本“呼唤”功能的角度出发，突出读者至上，译文釆用“YOU-FORM”的形式值得推荐。用第二人称娓娓道来的语气不仅可以引人人胜与读者直闻交流，还能满足人们的心现自尊，唤起读者积极的心理感应。而且国外英语景介大多顺应这种趋势。
