学生的译文把汉语中的“导师”翻译成了 my supervisor“我的导师”。由于前文中已经出现过my supervisor，而且在该篇章中不会和其他任何人发生混淆，因此， 应该尽量用代词。参考译文1和参考译文2均用了所有格的代词his，避免了使用名词，加强了英文篇章的内聚力。关于名词一代词的转换矛盾，在人物介绍中最为突出。北京外国语大学的一位翻译老师研究发现，在人物介绍中，英语版本所用的第三人称代词明显地高于其对应的汉语翻译版。她还发现，专家翻译和学生翻译的最 明显差别之ー便是，学生汉语译文中的代词多得多。

虽然在参考译文中只是把两个表示姓名的专有名词改成了人称代词，但结果使得译文更像英文，句间的聚合力更强。如果说名词的频繁重复使用会降低英文篇章的凝聚力的话，那么，句子副词的使用不当，不仅起不到应有的衔接作用，而且有时还会破坏篇章的连贯。如果说衔接不当令译文读起来不畅，连贯受损之后会使文章逻辑混乱，不知所云。
