(2) 重复先行词，加译转折词
有时定语从句所表达的意思和主句的意思会发生语气上的转折，这时定语从句多翻译为并列分句且前面可加译表示转折的连词。如：
* Each of our faculty focuses on understanding the basic chemical, physical, and biological phenomena that underlie the engineering research problem under consideration.
我们每一位教师都关注基本的化学、物理和生物现象，而这些现象是当前研究工程问题的基础。
* Massage directly improves the function of the sebaceous (oil) and sweat glands which keep the skin lubricated, clean, cooled.
推拿直接提高油脂和汗腺的功能，而这些油脂和汗腺则起到保持皮肤润滑、清洁、 清爽作用。
(3)省译先行词
* The lungs are subject to several diseases which are treatable by surgery.
肺易受几种疾病的侵袭，但均可进行手术治疗。
* Crop and Soil Sciences is a diverse profession that encompasses all aspects of crop production and soil management.
作物与土壤学是一门多样化专业，包含农作物生产和土壤管理各个方面的知识。
* Linux is an operating system that was created as a hobby by a young student, Linus Torvalds, at the University of Helsinki in Finland.
Linux是一种操作系统,是由芬兰赫尔辛基大学的年轻学生Linux Torvalds作为业余爱好编制出来的。
