Fourth, this year marks the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.Over the past 70 years, especially since the reform and opening up in 1978, China has gone through rapid economic growth.In terms of constant prices, GDP grew at an average annual rate of 9.4% from the year of 1979 to 2018, far higher than the world economy's average annual growth rate which is around 2.9% in the same period of time, contributing about 18% to world economic growth on average.Since 2010, China has been the world's second largest economy.In 2014, it became the second country in the world with an economy volume of more than $10 trillion.China's manufacturing output has been the world's largest for many years , accounting for 25% of the global total.China is in leading position in the field of high-speed train, supercomputers, microgrid, nuclear energy, quantum technology and artificial intelligence.China is the world's largest patent applicant country.Today, China is embracing the world with an open mind.The Belt and Road Initiative is received with positive response by more than 160 countries and region and international organizations all around the world.China appeals to build a community of shared future for mankind, actively participate in global governance, contribute China's wisdom and demonstrate its responsibility as a major country.You are just in the new era of China's booming development.
第五、亚洲在教育领域实力日益增强，中国的教育质量也在不断提高。截至2019年6月，中国大陆高校共计2956所，形成了高质量的、学科完备的教育体系，产出了一批具有国际影响力的标志性成果。其中通信工程、仪器科学、土木工程、船舶与海洋工程、遥感技术、冶金工程、航空航天工程和交通运输工程等学科位居世界学科排名第一。2018年“世界大学学术排名（ARWU）”中国内地共有202所高校在各个学科的榜单中上榜，上榜总次数达1700次，位列全球第二。2018年，共有来自196个国家和地区的49万各类外国留学生在中国学习。2019年全球创新指数（GII）报告显示，中国创新实力不断增强、质量不断提高，北京、深圳-香港进入世界前5大创新集群，创新集群数量位居全球第二。
Last but not least, Asian countries are catching up in the education field.The quality of education in China is upgrading increasingly.By June 2019, there are 2,956 universities in mainland China, which have formed a high-quality and comprehensive disciplined education system and produced a number of landmark achievements with international influence. Among them, communication engineering, instrument science, civil engineering, ship and ocean engineering, remote sensing technology, metallurgical engineering, aerospace engineering, transportation engineering and other subjects ranked first in the world university academic subjects ranking.A total of 202 universities from the Chinese mainland have been listed in the 2018 Academic Ranking of World Universities , ranking second with a total of 1,700 times listed after US.In 2018, a total of 490,000 foreign students from 196 countries and regions studied in China.According to the 2019 global innovation index (GII) report, China's innovation strength and quality continue to improve.Beijing and Shenzhen-Hongkong are among the top 5 world innovation clusters.The total number of innovation clusters ranks second in the world, second to the US.
