Remarks by H.E. Ambassador Huang Qinguo at the Ceremony of Topping off of Condominium and Opening of Entertainment Center of The POINTE
尊敬的巴哈马总理明尼斯先生，
各位来宾，女士们、先生们，
大家晚上好：
今天，我非常高兴出席新地标（THE POINTE）项目公寓楼封顶和娱乐中心开业仪式。首先，我谨代表中国驻巴哈马使馆对中建美国公司表示祝贺，向对该项目给予大力支持和帮助的巴哈马政府和社会各界表示感谢，向所有为该项目建设付出辛勤劳动的中巴两国工程技术人员表示敬意。
旅游业是巴哈马第一支柱产业，酒店、住宅、娱乐设施以及游艇码头等旅游基础设施建设是巴哈马发展旅游经济的重要保证。新地标项目位于拿骚市中心，项目符合巴哈马国家经济发展战略，被巴政府视为首都拿骚市中心升级改造计划的龙头项目，一直受到巴政府的高度关注和大力支持。该项目也是目前中资企业在巴哈马投资的最大项目，全部建成后不仅将大大改善拿骚市中心的面貌，而且会给当地带来约500个就业岗位，显著促进巴旅游业和经济发展。

Ladies and gentlemen,
Good evening!
Today, I am very pleased to be here and witness the Topping off of Condominium and Opening of Entertainment Center of THE POINTE. On behalf of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, I would like to express my warm congratulations to China Construction America and my sincere gratitude to all the Chinese and Bahamian staffs who have made contribution to this project. Since the completion of the Baha Mar project last year, THE POINTE has been the largest cooperation project between China and The Bahamas and the largest investment by Chinese companies in The Bahamas. Located in downtown Nassau, THE POINTE will surely contribute to the upgrading of the city center and the future economic growth of The Bahamas. I am glad to know that THE POINTE project, once completed, will create about 500 jobs for local Bahamians. Here I appreciate the Bahamian government and companies who have supported this project and China-Bahamas friendly cooperation.
