尊敬的波州议员，
女士们、先生们：
大家晚上好！
欢迎大家出席我的到任招待会。这么多朋友的到来，充分体现了中密关系的友好以及社会各界对发展中密关系的大力支持。我虽然刚到任一个多月，但已经深切感受到了这片土地的美好、文化的独特，更重要的是感受到了密克人民的勤劳和善良。习近平主席经常说，绿水青山就是金山银山。密克罗尼西亚就是这样一座金山银山，就是一块风水宝地。近年来，在克里斯琴总统和密联邦政府的有力领导下，在密克全体人民的共同努力下，密联邦经济社会发展不断取得新成就。我相信，密联邦有着巨大的绿色发展优势和潜力，未来一定会更加美好。

Welcome to tonight's reception. First of all, please allow me to pay my tribute to the traditional leaders of this land. Indeed, I am very pleased to see so many friends present here tonight, which is a true demonstration of our friendship and the support to China-FSM relations. Though I am in Pohnpei just a few days more than a month, I am deeply impressed by this charming land of FSM, for its unique culture, long history, and most importantly the industrious and kind-hearted FSM people. President Xi Jinping of China always says that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets. The great nature in FSM is indeed the invaluable asset. In recent years, thanks to the strong leadership of President Peter Christian and the joint efforts of its people, the FSM has made remarkable progress in its development. I wish to extend my sincere congratulations on that. I believe with the FSM's green advantages and great potential, the future of the FSM is bound to be very promising.
中密人民友好交往的历史源远流长。据说，600多年前明朝大航海家郑和就到过密克罗尼西亚地区，很可能到过纳马杜，比欧洲国家早半个多世纪。根据历史学家赫泽尔的研究， 18世纪晚期，一些西方商人将波纳佩的海产品如玳瑁、鱼翅等出口到中国，换取丝绸和茶叶。我们称之为“海上丝绸之路”，这也是习近平主席提出“一带一路”倡议的深刻历史渊源。
Chinese and the FSM peoples share a long history of friendly exchanges. It is said that over 600 years ago in Chinese Ming Dynasty, Chinese navigator Zheng He might have visited this neighborhood Micronesia and even Nan Madol, about half a century before his European counterparts. According to the study of historian Professor Francis Hezel, in late 18th century, some western businessmen exported Pohnpei sea products, such as turtle shells and shark fins to China to exchange for silk and tea. We called it "maritime silk-road", which is the deep historical origin of President Xi Jinping's Belt and Road Initiative, gaining more and more support from all over the world.
