寄稿时，一般附信一封。内容主要是介绍稿件特点，并提合理要求。附言必须写得：简洁一一不超过500字；明确一一避免误解；礼貌一措辞委婉。许多期刊都刊有编辑姓名，写信前查清消楚，尽量避免用Dear Sir作收信人称呼。

例一：

今寄去稿件“婴幼儿阑尾包块”一份，不知贵刊能否刊登。

拙稿是本人治疗该病10年的总结。一般说来，阑尾包块的治疗方法有保守治疗和手术治疗，我们倾向保守疗法。对患者采用保守疗法,效果良好。

如蒙发表，此方法可能在贵刊引起讨论。请将同行们的意见告诉我。

如不发表，烦请将稿退回。

I wish to submit the enclosed manuscript "Appendix Mass in the Very Young Child" for consideration of its suitability for publication in your Journal.

This manuscript summarizes my experience in 10-year treatment of the disease. In general, the approach towards the treatment of appendix mass has been either nonoperative or operative. But we favor the former in a child presenting with an appendix mass. We feel that such a patient will respond to such management with lower morbidity.
