(三）句中有含否定意义的形容词或短语形容词

这类形容词或短语形容词有few、little、short of、free from 、free of、safe from、independent of,等等。例如：

(使用）人造血液不存在被肝炎或艾滋病等疾病传染的危险。

（四）句中有表示否定意义的副词

这类副词常见的有 less、barely、hardly、seldom、rarely、independently等。例如：

10. This fuel has a high octane number and as such it is less likely to detonate.,

这种燃料的辛烷值很高，因此不大可能发生爆燃。

11. A few stars are known which are hardly bigger than the earth.

人们知道，和地球的大小差不多的星球寥寥无几。

冷水浴可使人不患感冒。

(五）句中有表示否定意义的介词

这类介词有 beyond、out of、above、without、instead of、in lieu of，等等。例如：
