It never rains but it pours.
All asses wag their ears.
A new broom sweeps clean. Said of an overdressed person who does not really match up to his/her clothes (Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable) ,意为“过分的包装只能打扮出一个好外表”。 The gilded Buddha looks better and the well-dressed person looks more decent, The tailor makes the man的说法;“文如其人”与the style is the man也有异曲同工之妙。 When the cat's away, the mice will play. 。
A thing of beauty is a joy for ever. (Beautiful sights and sounds give joy to all. This joy lasts longer than the sight or sound — it lasts as long as the memory does.)
Brevity is the soul of wit.(简洁是智慧的灵魂。)(To be witty one must say a lot in very few words.)
