Remarks of Ambassador Zhou Pingjian at the Forum on China-Nigeria Production Capacity and Investment Cooperation

女士们、先生们、朋友们： 

　　欢迎出席2018年中尼产能投资合作论坛。众议院尼中关系委员会雅库布主席和各位委员热心支持举办本次论坛，我谨代表使馆表示衷心感谢。我还要感谢尼日利亚中国总商会积极参与筹办。 

　　本次论坛的时机很好。再有两个星期，中非合作论坛北京峰会即将举办，主题是“中国和非洲：合作共赢，携手构建更加紧密的中非命运共同体”。

Dear Friends, 

Welcome to join us in the 2018 Forum on China-Nigeria Production Capacity and Investment cooperation. On behalf of the Embassy of China, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Chairman Buba Yusuf Yakub and honorable members of the House Committee on Nigeria-China Relations for making this event happen with usual enthusiasm and unreserved support. My appreciation also goes to the China Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria for its meticulous preparatory work. 

The forum today comes at a most opportune time. In about two weeks, China will host the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) under the theme of China and Africa: Toward an Even Stronger Community with a Shared Future through Win-Win Cooperation. 

　　习近平主席期待届时同非方领导人在北京共襄盛举，共商中非合作发展大计，为增进中非人民福祉、促进世界和平与发展贡献力量。 

　　相信在中非双方共同努力下，论坛北京峰会必将成为加强中非团结合作的又一历史性盛会。

President Xi Jinping is looking forward to participating in the Beijing summit with African leaders to discuss plans for the development of China-Africa cooperation so as to improve the well-being of the Chinese and African peoples and promote world peace and development. 

It is believed that under the joint efforts of China and Africa, the FOCAC Beijing Summit will surely become another historic event to strengthen China-Africa solidarity and cooperation.
