四、重复状语从句中所省略的成分
表示时间、地点、条件、让步、方式的状语从句中的谓语， 若含有动词“be”，主语又和主句的主语一致，或者主语是“it”, 就把从句中的主语和作助动词或连系动词用的“be”省略。英译汉时，就应重复所省略的成分。例如：
10 ) When pure，water is a colourless Jiquid.
水纯时，水是无色的液体。（重复：水）
11) Through long power lines electricity goes where needed.
电通过很长的电线，输送到需要它的地方。
五、重复英语中的修饰语或被修饰语
12)Now we Chinese people are working hard to build china into a great and powerful socialist country with modern agriculture, industry, national defence and science and technology.
现在，我们中国人民正在努力工作，以便把我国建设成为一个具有现代农业、现代工业、现代国防和现代科学技术的强社会主义国家。
13) We can divide metals into ferrous and non- ferrous metals.
我们可以把金属分为黑色金属和有色金属。
六、重复英语中的宾语
14) I was told that they would check up and repair the machine.
有人告诉我说，他们将检查这台机器，修理这台机器。
15) Changing the number of turns of coils may step up or step down the voltage.
改变线圈匝数可以升压或降压。
