4. 短语定语的位置
短语做定语时，汉语通常放在名词前面，而译成英语时则通常放在名词之后。例如：
1) 本章要介绍的变频器特别有用。
The convertor to be described in this chapter is particularly useful.
2) 改变物体运动的カ与该物体的质量成正比。
The force to change the motion of a body is proportional to the mass of the body.
3) 通过控制刀具与工件之间的相对运动，就可加工出各种几何形状。
By controlling the relative movements between tool and workpiece，geometric shapes are machined.
5. 前置定语不止ー个时的译法
汉语中前置定语不止一个时，习惯上把最能表明事物本质的定语放在最前面，而把表示规模大小，力量强弱的定语放在后面。英语则相反，越能表示事物基本性质的定语越要靠近它所修饰的名词。例如：
