3. 当英语句子中几个形容词共同修饰名词时，被修饰的名词在译成汉语时常常可以重复。如：
* The three most important effects of an electric current are heating, magnetic and chemical effects.
电流三种最重要的效应是热效应、磁效应和化学效应。
* Computers can operate on either analogue or digital information.
计算机能够根据模拟信息或数字信息进行运算。
二、重复动词
在英语句子中，如果并列连词as well as, not only...but also, but, not...but, either...or, both ...and，neither...nor等连词连接两个并列成分，且只有一个谓语动词时，汉译时为了译文的修辞需要，可以重复翻译该动词。如：
* The internal combustion engines can operate on kerosene as well as on benzine.
内燃机不仅能用汽油开动，而且能用航空煤油开动。
* Alternating stress not only varies in magnitude but also in direction.
角变应力不仅大小变化，而且方向也变化。
