从属连词使用不正确造成的误译

语法是语言学的最重要规则之一。作力重要的语言活动，翻译和写作自然与语法密切相关。英语语法在汉译英和英语写作中的電要作用是不言自明的。要想译出好的英语译文或写出好的英语文章，扎实地掌握英语语法是十分必要的。下面列出一些从属连词使用不当的举例，希望对读者有所裨益。
例1：Although the ultrastructure and function of the transmitting tissue have been reported in many angiosperm, but studies on this tissue in plants with wet stigma and open type style are limited to a few families, e.g.…[虽然这种引导组织已在许多被子植物上有所报道,但在具湿柱头和开放型花柱的植物中对这种组织的研究仅限于少数植物，如，...]
在例中，译者套用了汉语中的“虽然…但是…”这一结构，而英语中的从属连词although(或though)本身就是“虽然……但（是） ……”这一意思。所以上述译文中的并列连词but是不需要的，加上反成为语法错误。
改译：Although the ultrastructure and function of the transmitting tissue have heen reported in many angiosperm, studies on this tissue in plants with wet stigma and open type style are limited to a few families, e.g....
例 2. Whether the deformation-induced martensite can be formed for ihe alloys with stable austenite at ambient temperature
during wear and which of the factors controls the y-a' transformation are complicated.[对于具有稳定奥氏体的合金来说，在室温条件下磨损期间是否可形成变形诱导马氏体以及哪个因素控制y-a'转变点都是十分复杂的。]
上述译文中的which系疑问代词，不能引导主语从句，前面应加上从属连词that。另外译文的两个并列主语从句直接放在整个句子的前面作主语，短短的谓语置于句子最后，使句子头重脚轻，有先去平衡的感觉。
改译：It is complicated whether the deformation-induced martensite can be formed for the alloys with stable austenite at ambient temperature during wear and that which of the factors controls the y-a' transformation.
例 3. What action on the Amy-1 gene frequency changes the mating system produced should be studied further.[交配方式是否对Amy-1基因频率的改变起作用值得进一步研究。]
例中的What为疑问形容词，可修饰名词，但不能引导从句。引导主语从句应该用从属连词that等或用连接词whether 或if。
改译 1 ： Whether the mating system acts on the change of Amy-1 gene frequency should be further studied.(缩合连接副词 whether 引导主语从句)
