不久前，一位来自中国的游客对我说：“抵达萨摩亚，第一眼看到的就是这座美丽而现代化的国际机场，我立即对萨摩亚有了全新的印象，这使我的萨摩亚之旅从一开始就有了好心情。”新的法雷奥罗国际机场为萨摩亚民众和进出萨摩亚的各国游客提供了更宽敞舒适的服务设施、更便利快捷的出行条件，将成为萨摩亚面向世界的新“门户”和各国游客认识萨摩亚的新“窗口”。随着中国援建项目以及近年来当地一系列高档酒店和旅游设施的投入使用，新竣工的法雷奥罗国际机场也将和萨摩亚丰富独特的旅游资源一起，为萨旅游业，乃至整体经济社会的长远可持续发展注入源源不断的活力与动力。

Not long ago, I met a tourist from China who told me that he was totally awed by the beautiful Faleolo International Airport upon his arrival in Samoa. He said, "I have a complete new impression about Samoa at the first sight of this modern and beautiful airport, which brings a very pleasant feeling to my trip to Samoa." The new Faleolo International Airport has become Samoa's gateway to the world and a brand-new landmark of the paradise island---the beautiful Samoa. This new international airport, together with all the popular hotels and resorts and other tourism resources, will definitely bring vitality to the sustainable development of Samoa tourism industry.

　　记得两年前，我刚来萨摩亚时，机场升级改造工程才刚刚开始。短短两年时间，这座现代化、雄伟而富有波利尼西亚风格的新机场如期高质量建设完工，这简直就是一个奇迹！这是两国政府密切合作的成果，是两国企业互利共赢的典范，是两国工程技术人员合力奉献的精品，也是两国人民深厚友谊的结晶。我们不会忘记许许多多为新机场建设默默奉献、不懈付出的人们。

Today, when we witness with our own eyes the completion of the grand project of the new international airport with the unique Polynesian style, we can't help marveling at the miracle that was achieved in two years' time. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation and admiration to all those who have made this miracle possible.

　　我要感谢图伊拉埃帕总理、各位内阁部长以及萨政府各部门的官员们。新机场是中萨两国政府密切合作的成果。四年前，在中国国家主席习近平和萨摩亚总理图伊拉埃帕的共同见证下，两国政府签署该项目的合作协议。在项目论证、设计、施工、验收等各个环节，双方团队密切配合，共同克服许多困难，使该工程如期、顺利、高效和高标准地完成。

　　我要特别感谢上海建工的工程技术人员和工人，是你们用精湛的技艺和辛勤的劳动为国争光，为中萨友谊树立起又一座雄伟的里程碑！

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to Hon. Tuilaepa, Prime Minister of Samoa and all the Cabinet Ministers as well as all the officials of the concerned departments of the Samoan Government. This new airport is the result of the close collaboration between the governments of China and Samoa. Four years ago, the Agreement on the cooperation for the China-aid upgrading project for Faleolo International Airport was signed between the governments of China and Samoa in the presence of President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Tuilaepa. In the course of the construction of the airport, the working teams of both China and Samoa have cooperated with each other well to complete the project in time with high efficiency and quality.

On this occasion, I want to especially express my sincere thanks to all the engineers, technicians and workers from Shanghai Construction Group who have worked very hard for this grand project. Thank you, my dear Chinese compatriots! You have set up this new milestone of China-Samoa friendship with your hands and your hearts.
